Search Parameters

You can use FHIR® resource search parameters to find specific resources and types of resources on the 1up FHIR Server.

The following parameters apply to all resources:

_content

 _security
_id _source
_lastUpdated _tag
_profile _text
_query _filter

In addition to these general parameters, 1up supports all of the available search parameters for each FHIR resource type.

Logical Searches with AND & OR

You can include AND and OR in your search query to combine multiple values in your search parameters. To return search results that include all of the values you specify, use AND (&). To return search results that include any of the values you specify, use OR (comma-separated list ,).

To create an AND search, include multiple values in your search parameter, separated by &.

 GET [base]/Patient?name=john&gender=male

This search only returns Patients who are named John and are male.

To create an OR search, include multiple values in your search parameter, separated by ,.

 GET [base]/Patient?name=john,jon,juan

This search returns all Patients named John, Jon, or Juan.

You can also submit queries that combine AND and OR operators.

 GET [base]/Patient?family=doe&given=john,jane

This search returns Patients with the last name Doe and the first name John or Jane.
